China Cottage is a place that M has been speaking about for a while, she went a few years ago with her boyfriend and have let me know about this place and how great it is. She advised that it is an all you can eat restaurant but with a twist, the twist is, that it is not a buffet, you order as much as you want and it gets brought to you fresh. LIKE WHAT?! I love this idea and the person who created this idea. If youre from Glasgow area or know it well, you will understand that i dont think there is a place in this area that does this with Chinese food. I was flabargasted at this.
So, M, my sister, is going away to abroad to work for a month tomorrow, so this was our goodbye meal for a few weeks (emotional time for me as we are the closest ever). So we ventured out to the other side of Glasgow in Bothwell to go to this Chinese. When we got there, to be honest, it isnt the nicest looking place, it does just look like a little Chinese takeaway. Inside though, it is very nice, the restaurant is cute. We got seated (I like these people) and got given the menus. So, after the excitement we realised that it was a Sunday menu we had and that the all you can eat started at 5pm and it was around 2/3pm. Ragin' wisnae the word.
We decided on Chicken noodle soup for starter and Pancake Rolls. For mains we got Chicken Curry with boiled rice and a special chow mein. It was fabulous.
I got the chicken curry which came like this above. It was very, very tasty. Spicy and a decent size portion which I was of course happy about. The curry isn't the best I've had obviously but on that note not the worst defiantly. Delicious and filled a hole. Perfect late lunch/early dinner.
M got the special chow mein, she enjoyed this a lot. The portion size was great she feels, the noodles were thin and fresh, as was the chicken, pork, mushrooms and prawns. The BBQ sauce was lovely. This was amazing, no bad words about it at all. Beautiful place, beautiful food and beautiful friendly people.
3/5 STARS
NICE.
